Any door can be subject to all kinds of abuse such as forced, violent openings, and wind and draught conditions. The use of an overhead holder/stop can control the door opening and prevent damage to glass, pivots, jamb and reveals, and eliminate costly repairs. All three door stays on this page have a spring to absorb some of the opening shock when the door is opened, and a knurled roller in the bottom of the stay which can be toggled to hold the door open at 90°. To disengage the hold-open, the door is pulled in the direction of closing.
